June 14th, 2026 - The Real Website Launch

Heya! Now that this is here, I'm surprised if you're even reading this at all, don't know how since this is one of about 3 things I added to the website last but it does nonetheless. This is gonna be a short first entry because at the time I'm writing this out I just finished getting V1.0 together and my head hurts. HTML/CSS aren't bad to code with, I still had fun doing this, but my god do I miss Dreamweaver when I used it for my Web Design class I took in school. If there's anything I think Adobe has a monopoly when it comes to professional work for, Dreamweaver is definitely it ngl. It's actually insane to me that nobody went into the ring to make a free or even just cheaper alternative, doing all of this completely by code and compiler is like 10x more tedious lol

Stuff about this website

I mentioned this in the About Me page, but the main reason this website exists is entirely for the self-centered reason of making myself stand out! I like customizing my online profiles, but as one can see nowadays online, there's not much room to do that anymore on most social medias that exist nowadays, and the ones that do have a good level of customization *cough* Discord *COUGH* put it behind a paywall. Sure, it was definitely amplified by YT recommendations suddenly basically telling me do this & the 1 million spam accounts I keep seeing follow/friend request me & DM me across all my socials that have come to make me realize that I'm going to have to individualize myself online not just for my own personal gain but nowadays just in general if I want to interact with people and not have them actively searching my messages for the potential malware link.

(quick check for my close friends since I'm wondering if any of them are actually reading this lol, send me a message on discord saying "mart is in the floor" with no context I'll catch on)

With this update to my site, the only two site pages I haven't done is the Echo Chamber & Abyssal Theater pages. The Echo Chamber page is actually just gonna be a page dedicated to my goat Camellia because he is the reason I live and breathe...okay maybe not all that but oddly enough even as a game developer he's my top inspiration, I love him(as a fan) and he makes just the perfect music for my ears. The Abyssal Theater one is kinda just guaranteed to not be much since I haven't watched a lot of movies or shows in my life believe it or not. Absolute born and raised YT kid right here. Same applies for anime, I just haven't watched much yet though I've been more proactive on watching more anime(at least, when I don't find that anime's manga first if it has one)!

Other stuff

Outside of bashing my head against a wall over missing Dreamweaver like a wife that left me, I've set my sights on entering some game jams to make the scroll bar on that portfolio page a good bit longer. I'd say I'm hoping to meet some people, but nah, I'll probably go it solo for some and see how it goes because I love overworking myself!! The main goals are two things:

1. Make a game of some sort!

Who could've seen this coming at all. What, you did? You're joking, simply have to be, I mean how could you have possibly guessed I entered a game jam to make games? You know what? I think you're some sort of mutant with mind reading powers, you mind freak...

Joking aside, I really need to make some more games, especially now that I graduated from my Game Design course, I gotta start putting the experience from that degree to use. Procrastination and me have been battling since the era before the gods, and while I may not ever truly win, I can at least still put something out there showing I put up a good fight.

2. Make music for said game!

Hopefully most of my time developing these jam games doesn't get eaten up by the art stuff of which I'm terrible at, because I need to make some nice music. Frankly, I haven't even fully finished setting up Reaper again yet, I gotta download some more plugins, but I think I'm ready to stop messing around with it and get fully into producing music as my side thing. No better reason to do so than to make the soundtrack for my own game in which I have too short a deadline to ask a friend to do it for me.

end

Graduating in the big 26, smh. Anyways, next diary entry will probably be after one of the jams I signed up for and will definitely be about the development experience, so I hope I get to see you again then!

See ya, thanks for listening to this lone voice within the void!~
