Black Souls II

Platform: PC

TLDR: Base game + DLC1 is peak. DLC2/Chaos Dungeon is a fun little roguelike mode. DLC3 is mid.

You thought it was gonna be some minor controversy game or something tame first huh? Sorry gng, but I truly do play anything. Anyways, BS2 is actually a really good RPGMaker game, and actually does a really good job translating the Soulslike combat into a turn based format. This game in particular has REALLY good storywriting as well. Sadly, gameplay wise, this is thrown out the window in "Artificial Difficulty Hell" a.k.a DLC3/Winterbell/Ending H. Writing wise, DLC3 is the best of the game, but gameplay wise it is cancer. You need to grind Chaos Dungeon on end to amass souls to boost your stats to insane levels to even survive here. Not even to win, just to survive, it's so ass. It's unfortunate, the storywriting is the only saving grace that prevents me from calling DLC3 blatant ass, because the game would be like an 8.5 or a 9 for me if it wasn't for DLC3 being the way it is gameplay-wise, but what can you do?

Saya no Uta / The Song of Saya

Platform: PC

Mainly played it through piracy, though I'm probably gonna own it eventually. It's a nice VN though, could be way better but it's nice for what it is worth, wouldn't really call it bad at least. I'm mainly just attracted to the concept, not a lot of Lovecraftian-esque games out there and I think how this game handles it is pretty interesting, worth a shot if that's something you're into.
