Terraria

Platform: PC/Console/Mobile

Simply my top favorite game of all time, nothing comes close. I can never get bored of this game no matter what I play or how I play it. Only part of the game I dislike is Master & Legendary difficulty, having no actual mechanic changes just leaves no point to actually play them, having all the bosses be HP sponges is really boring tbh. Good thing you can use mods to still get Master mode drops on Expert or just play Journey lol

Gonna use this space in my beloved here to tell you that I've played a lot of games, so while obviously my entire library across every platform isn't here, a lot of games is what you're gonna see lol. I completely doubt you're gonna read the whole thing or even this whole section to see this but if you do, congrats. You get nothing though, I'm all out of cookies.

Arcaea

Platform: Mobile (Switch too but it's not updated as frequently)

Forgot to mention somewhere in the page beforehand, but this does include mobile games, just not gachas bcuz that's somewhere else. Anyways...

My first rhythm game I played and to this day the one I hold the most fondly. Amazing charts, music selection, and a great story on top of all of it. Only single issue with this game is the fact that it's definitely a mobile game, and not as in "I wish it wasn't a mobile game" moreso that this game has all the terrible mobile game habits as well. The devs had to make World Mode super grindy to make you spend money outside of buying song packs/songs and some maps(ESPECIALLY Awakening Material Maps) can take daaays to finish up. I grinded Nonoka's for about a week to finish and it only took a week because I put money down for the step multiplier, would've took way longer otherwise. Still though, outside of that it's an excellent rhythm game imo, can't recommend it enough. (Fun Fact: all the BGs on this website are from this game!)

Five Nights at Freddy's 2

Platform: PC/Console/Mobile

I know that in comparison to basically every other FNaF game 2 is easily the worst one, but it's what got me so deep into this franchise and frankly I really do not know where I'd be right now if FNaF did not exist. Literally, if someone erased the concept of FNaF's existence one day out of nowhere my life would drastically change, I'd be lost in a world like that...

Second Stellar

Platform: PC

Probably my single favorite roguelike right now, I love almost everything about this game. All my gripes are just personal preference and the game is Early Access so things are bound to change as it develops, and I can't wait long enough for that man...

If you know of the Terraria mod The Stars Above, the MCs will look familiar here, and that is because they are the same characters in that mod! This game is basically the true, standalone story and world of those characters, and it's developed by the person behind that mod, though you could probably guess that one. Anyways, go play it! Support the dev!!

SOUND VOLTEX

Platform: Arcade

Not too much to say here. It's my favorite Arcade Rhythm Game, though sadly I live in NYC, and this place doesn't even have a Round1 yet. (and the Round1 it's going to have this year is going to be deep in Queens, it's not fair...)

I have played it before though so this isn't larp! I genuinely love how the game plays and looks.

the NoexistenceN of you AND me

Platform: PC

I love everything about this game.

Genuinely genre-defining visual novel imo, and an absolutely perfect example of a VN that truly only works as a VN. The way this game's story is presented just wouldn't work without it being a game, and only works even better as a VN due to the way it subverts VN cliches.

Despite not being my top favorite game of all time, it's close, and it's one of the miniscule few games I'd say is a literal objective 10/10, actually perfect game if you're into VNs or want a unique story to read. Most of this was me yapping about it detached from myself, but this game made the onion-cutting ninjas execute a perfect operation in my house because it had me cry my eyes out for a bit and generally I just really felt for this game and what it portrays. Please buy it, sit down, and read through it. You can complete it in one sitting, and it is so worth it if you ask me.

Beat Saber

Platform: VR

Yeah, was probably super obvious what my favorite VR game would be.

You can blame Camellia for me playing Beat Saber, or maybe you can thank him? Huh, even though his songs make my shoulders bleed, he did put me onto VR games and this game, so maybe it's not all bad.

*VRChat approaches from behind*

OH MY GOD-

Geometry Dash

Platform: PC/Mobile

This game was my personal introduction to music games and the beginning of my descent into the world of music and rhythm games. Do I wish it could've been a different game to do it? Maybe. Would I change it now if I could? Nah, I still hold this game pretty fondly. Post 2.2 though I don't touch GD too much, I've started to realize I miss when Geometry Dash levels looked like Geometry Dash levels...

Though, I don't actually hate the levels of today(most of the time), but having the editor's Megumi realized with a single update definitely did a number on the styles of levels we see now. Frankly I'm just glad Geometry Dash is now a game that consistently has updates again, I don't ever want to see another 2.1-2.2 update drought.

Bright Memory

Platform: PC/Console

Everything I say here, as well as Bright Memory's spot in my favs, is shared with its sequel, Bright Memory: Infinite, I love both games pretty much equally.

One of the shortest full games I have ever played, but also one of the best shooters I have ever played. The gunplay in this game is so freaking good, it's meat-riding good. It's very simplistic, it's no ULTRAKILL with 1 million techs or smth, but it feels SO good to play. Only single downside is the length of the game, if one would call a game that's a few hours long brief, then this game is whatever you can describe as less than that! Only an hour long for a game with so much potential is actually insane. It's fine though, because it's at leats priced fairly to compromise for the length, you should play it if you got nothing better to do tbh. Also, outside of gameplay, turn your brain completely off, the best way I can describe the plot of this game is that Bright Memory is like one of those fake video games you see on the background of a random TV in a video game.

Dungeon Maker & Dungeon Within

Platform: Mobile

Dungeon Within is the Early Access sequel to Dungeon Maker, and as such they'll be talked about in the same section. Anyways...

These games are honestly really good for mobile games, actual perfect time sinks that aren't gachas or require putting your wallet in to have fun(at least, after you get the game, they're both paid games). Fun little roguelikes where you build a dungeon and be a raid boss. I'm kinda addicted to both games, with the only things I haven't done in both being getting wins with every character and doing the highest difficulties, though that's mainly because in Dungeon Maker the highest difficulty from the DLC requires a ton of prep and like all the content unlocked to even take on. Still though, super fun, if you want a nice game to have on your phone that can easily eat time while you're outside or inside and isn't a gacha, you should try them out.

Lobotomy Corporation, Library of Ruina

Platform: PC, PC/Console

While not as potent within my brain functions, I do have the Project Moon Sleeper Agent in my brain, and I enjoy these games.

I also hate myself, but I swear I do not actively partake in self-harm.

Fire Emblem Engage

Platform: Nintendo Switch

Fire Emblem is my favorite of the Nintendo franchises, and this one is easily my favorite game. I'm practically addicted to starting new playthroughs to build different favs of mine, and this game has all the qualities of FE, especially modern FE I like the most, which is mainly just general gameplay, builds, and characters. Engage's story(main story, Fell Xenologue is cool imo) is pretty weak, but it's the one aspect I can forgive.

What I cannot forgive however, is that the soundtrack is mid. How could you, Intelligent Systems?

Lethal Company

Platform: PC

Still the best Friendslop game lol, nothing more to say. Go get some friends and meet those quotas.

Little seriously though, it really is. REPO is fun but I don't think it's nearly as horrifying and desolate feeling as Lethal. Lethal just has the horror down perfectly, but REPO is still really fun, the game is just more funny than scary.

Slime Rancher

Platform: PC/Console

The more I mention this game or see it in my library, the more I have to fight the urge to play and 100% it...

My sole favorite cozy game, even though I don't really play cozy games. I like fast paced and/or chaotic stuff and basically every cozy game does not fall under either, but there's just something about Slime Rancher that makes me unable to stop...

ULTRAKILL

Platform: PC

Ha! ULTRAKILL can't turn me gay, I'm Asexual, I'm already on the spectrum!

Was gonna get a mention eventually, so here it is. Don't really have much to say that hasn't been already said to hell and back though, cool as shit arcade style shooter.

UNBEATABLE

Platform: PC

Art IS feeling.

While this is also a rhythm game and thus was obviously a game I extremely like, it mainly earns this spot due to the story. Hits home for me, and the game being imperfect and flawed as it is really helps to drive the message home that the defining factor of art is the human touch. It's the part that makes you feel, and the part that defines what makes the work the way it is. In this age of AI, definitely an important message to get across nowadays but even without that looming crative threat, it's still just an important thing to know...right?

One Step from Eden

Platform: PC/Console

This game mainly has its spot because it's one of the very few only games I have ever 100% completed(I'm not really much of a completionist, I save 100% for games I utterly adore). On my Switch copy, I have done literally everything, TWICE btw because I accidentally reset my data once not knowing it had touch screen controls on the way to a class while I was packing my Switch back up. It's a pretty good roguelike, had me addicted for a long while, would recommend.
