Warframe
Warframe has the single most unique title out of all my games, it is the Best Worst Game I have ever played. It is also one of my favorite games of all time. Also, this is the first time in this website I'm using the Extended section, because this is a game of all time.
Warframe is a game with so much issues, an absolutely imperfect game in every right and honestly some of the shit the game gets is kinda deserved. Still though, the core of Warframe is great, movement and shooting feel fun and outside of high level play there's basically no restrictions on what you can use and how you wanna use it. In high level play however, Warframe very quickly becomes...one fo the worst games sometimes. Difficulty 90% of the time is pretty artificial, DPS is basically the only role in the game that actually matters and/or does something. The devs recently kinda realized most of this and went full in on power fantasy now and while I am completely fine with Warframe being the game where you have 1 million ways to kill anything and it's more of a sandbox than a challenge, that doesn't fix the lack of build variety or the lack of reason for player role variety either. Most of these issues are present in mid game, maybe even early game, but they're amplified tenfold once you're able to consistently take on Steel Path and you see most players running the same shit. This especially applies to Warframe modding because while Warframes innately have different playstyles, there just isn't enough mods in the game to have any sort of actual build variety. Outside of a few outlier Warframes, most Warframe building just consists of asking 3 questions: "how can this frame survive", "what stat does this frame need", & "are there any augments I need to run".
lil line here just to say I'm LR2 and have done all the content currently in the game as of Shadowgrapher(the latest update at the time of writing) except The Guilty & Apex Captain Vor
Warframe is a great game to me, but objectively I can't necessarily call it a good game lol. It has a ton of problems but depending on how you play you can avoid most of them. Sadly for me, I'm an Ivara main and I like playing Limbo, so I've had most of these problems front and center of my gameplay experience for years and "play other frames more" while a solution isn't a good one or a long term one and if anything would just make people in similar binds probably just drop the game. I love Warframe but man, it is definitely still a beta game alright. Hoping one of these days there can be some actually decent looter shooters to play aongside it though, because TFD and DNA aren't necessarily doing it. I know most of this sounds like me hating but I swear I love this game to death and I have clocked well over the thousand mark of hours of playtime on my Xbox from just this game, I'm just accepting of the fact that sometimes Warframe sucks lol.
(I really did try my best with TFD (The First Descendant) & DNA (Duet Night Abyss) btw, MR 18 & Trial Rank 50-smth respectively, absolute Megumi games bruh)
Not a point towards the game, but Warframe does also have a great community, though that's probably the most popular fact about the game. I don't think good or bad communities make games much better or worse though, I think it's pretty bad to attach your enjoyment of the games you play to the people around you, I just thought Warframe's community being what it is was worth a mention.
Anyway, yap session over, back to your regularly scheduled programming, you probably won't see the Extended yap section again...
PAYDAY 2
Peak shooter when you don't go above Mayhem difficulty lol, how long will it take for PAYDAY 3 to re-align the stars with what made PAYDAY 2 so good? Hopefully not too long.
Oh and DLC galore, hope you know someone that has a good amount of this game's DLC already...
